If we could give this zero stars we would. This agency quoted 2 home owner policies for us, one our primary residence the other our vacation home. The quotes that were given saved us money so we decided to make the change and switch to Curtis Insurance. After doing so, we received a cancellation on our homeowners because we have a pond in our yard. Not one time were we asked about a pond, nor did we try to hide the fact or think about even mentioning it as we are not insurance agents ourselves... . After further investigation, the agent SHOULD HAVE ASKED us this question as it is a standard thing to ask when quoting a policy insured by Pioneer (according to Pioneer themselves). Pioneer will not insure a property with a recreational pond apparently.
Very friendly staff with a bunch of affordable options for home and auto insurance. Really liked the local feel of this agency and recommend them to everyone looking for a better option!
SECOND: We just received another cancellation on our vacation home because it has a wood stove and the storm hatch wasn't secured?? We never ONCE received a call from our "Agent" and received a cancellation in the mail. In both of these instances, we had a lapse in coverage which could have been disastrous and it ended up costing us more money as the mortgage company puts their insurance on the homes. I am very disappointed in the knowledge of the agent here and the level of customer service they provide. It seems that being a smaller agency it would be better.. but it is not. We switched from a company that we had used for years and we should have never made the change. The agent is not knowledgeable when quoting business nor does he seem to care about if the insurance is bindable or not, just wants to get your money. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone based on our experience.
