This is more a review of the trail than the parking lot itself, which is fine. It's dirt, and watch out for poison ivy along the edges, but other than that, it's a parking lot.

This is a nicely paved trail walk love it great views of the Betsie River and surrounding woods

The trail itself is a great one for running / biking, especially just northeast of the parking area. It has views of the Betsie River, and west runs to Frankfort. The trail from Crystal Lake to Thompsonville is packed gravel, so leave your road bike at home if you're heading onto that section of the trail. The closer you get to Thompsonville, the more likely you will have the trail to yourself. There are a few road crossings, but it's a safe trail on which to take a family outing.

Do the betsie river canoe trip, for sure if you're in town. Takes about 2 hours, really easy paddle, and gorgeous views the whole way through. Also a great fishing experience if you're angling.
